FIRST CROP EXCITES BOLSTERS STOCKS

PROMISING Excites son Bolster looks capable of posting a winning debut after the Clarry Conners-trained three-year-old won another impressive trial win at Warwick Farm last weekend.

It was the third trial win by the young progeny of emerging sire Excites’ in as many days with 3yo Ambers Crown winning at Doomben by 3 lengths and unraced 2yo Excitus scoring impressively at Cranbourne.

Bolster’s victory in the 900m heat was the second time that the grey has won a trial, again this time by combining his obvious speed and tenacity to hold off several late challengers.

Owned and bred by Peter and Wendy Moran, Bolster races in the same colours as his sire wore to claim the AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at his third race start.

”Clarry said Bolster pulled up ‘big’ and had a bit of a blow so he is going to give the horse another trial  and then go to the races,” Peter Moran said.

”He seems to have a bit of ability, you really don’t know for sure until raceday, but he looks good at the moment.”

Meanwhile, another of Moran’s quality Excites progeny, Avadale, created an enormous impression on debut when she speared away to win by 4.5-lens at Gosford back in August.
