EXCITING AMBER TAKES QTIS CROWN

TRAINER Steven O’Dea will resist the temptation to have a crack at the Brisbane winter carnival with exciting two-year-old filly Amber’s Crown despite her near faultless record.

The daughter of AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Excites has won four of her six starts including today’s Ipswich CFMEU Mining and Energy Plate pocketing $96,000 thanks to the QTIS bonuses.

Amber’s Crown, a $15,000 yearling purchase, has so far won $222,000 with the promise of more to come – just not in the winter.

”At the moment we are looking at pulling up stumps and she’ll go straight to the paddock,” O’Dea said,”She’s done the job this time in having had the five runs, so we’ll pull out now and then work out where we go from here.

”We haven’t got any specific plans at the moment but the next goal is to get some black type alongside her name.

”She’s only a little tiny thing and I wouldn’t like to overtax her in her two-year-old year and run the risk of her not coming back as a three-year-old.

”So I would like to give her the chance to mature and develop and hopefully come back better time.”
