AUSTRALIAN-BRED More Than Ready colt Gimmiethegreenlight remains unbeaten in four starts and is likely to meet South Africa’s supreme two-year-old Delago Deluxe in coming weeks after scoring another impressive win at Greyville overnight.

The Stakes winning David Bentata-bred youngster remains on target to contest the coveted Group 1 Golden Horseshoe (1200m) next month month where he is almost certain to clash with the unbeaten Delago Deluxe – a maternal grandson of the epic mare Staging (dam of Vinery resident sire, Excites).

Gimmiethegreenlight was sold from among Vinery Stud’s 2009 Magic Millions National Weanling sale consignment for $155,000 to current owner Hassen Adams.

The young racehorse is a half brother to David Bentata’s stakeswinning mare and Mossman daughter, Ofcourseican, both delivered from his own Canny Lad mare, Yes She Can Cancan.

Closer to home where More Than Ready sons Phelan Ready and previously unbeaten Mahisara each turned in eye-catching performances in their respective races on Oaks day in the sunshine state.
Golden Slipper winner Phelan Ready revived memories of his improbable Magic Millions win when charging down the centre of the track to take second in the Group 2 BTC Cup (1300m).

Earlier in the day, local Scone colt Mahisara made the quantum leap from winning in midweek company to take bronze in the Group 2 QTC Sires’ Produce at only his third race start.
