ONE MORE, TWO TO GO FOR RED RANSOM

Onemorenomore’s sire, Red Ransom is now just two new stakeswinners away from reaching a telling milestone after French filly Evaporation became his 98th stakeswinner on Sunday.

When he does so, Red Ransom will join an elite band of stallions including Northern Dancer, Mr Prospector, Sadler’s Wells, Sunday Silence, Storm Cat and our own father and son duo, Sir Tristram and Zabeel.

Three year filly, Evaporation sat behind the leaders before showing an impressive turn of foot and holding off all challenges to win by a neck in the Listed €55,000 Prix Amandine over 1400m.  It was the fourth win from eight starts for the daughter of Red Ransom and her first Stake’s win following three previous placings in Black Type races.

“She has always been beaten by good fillies”, said winning trainer, Carlos Laffon-Parias’s, “She deserved to win a Listed race. I was only worried about the weight she was giving to the others. Unfortunately when you are placed in a Listed race you also get more kilos.”

Evaporation had previosuly finished second in the Listed Prix Volterra at Saint-Cloud, then third in the Prix de Sandringham (Gr2) going into this event.  It is expected Evaporation will remain in similar company for a tilt at the Group 3 Prix de Lieurey next month.
Evaporation is out of Polygreen, a Stakes winning mare by Green Tune and continues a long run of success for her maternal side with all six of her dams scoring at Stakes level.

As well as being one of the world’s most prolific provider of black-type winners, Red Ransom’s reputation as a sire-of-sires is in the ascendancy.

There are more than a dozen sons of Red Ransom available to Australian breeders in 2010 including his only 2YO Group One winner, Onemorenomore.

Onemorenomore has garnered crucial support from breeders in his opening season with a stunning book of mares in the wings.

Among them is the dual Group One winner Regimental Gal and a host of stakeswinning fillies and mares off the track as well as a generous portion of proven mares.
