The owner of Awesome Pluck has rejected an offer of more than $1 million for the exciting country-trained 2YO, reports AAP.

Port Macquarie trainer Jenny Graham confirmed Wauchope businessman Dale Miller received the offer from an agent representing Asian interests after the gelding finished third on his city debut at Warwick Farm eleven days ago.

That highly promising performance followed his outstanding debut when he romped home by 5.5 lengths at Taree in June. “At this stage Dale says he is not for sale as he reckons he doesn’t need the money,” Graham said. “I’m thankful to have such a good supporter but I know Dale will find it hard to say no if Awesome Pluck progresses as we hope and the offers get bigger.”

Graham said she has big plans for Awesome Pluck in the spring, commencing with the Gr3 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill on 26 August.

By Vinery’s Gr1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winning stallion Pluck (More Than Ready), Awesome Pluck boasts a strong pedigree being a direct descendant of Australian Oaks winner Savana City, dam of multiple Gr1-winning Hong Kong sprinter Mr Vitality (Snippets) and Gr2 winner Rose O’ War (Danehill), and grand-dam of Gr1 Hong Kong Centenary Sprint Cup winner King Of Danes (Danehill).
