EXCITES gelding Scream Machine landed a lucrative pay day for connections after scoring an impressive win in the Australian Turf Club Handicap (1550m) at Canterbury today for trainer Jason Coyle.

Not only did the 3YO claim the $17,500 winners cheque, his earnings were topped up by a $10,000 bonus courtesy of Racing NSW’s rich BOBS incentive programe in which all Vinery Stud stallions participate.
Prior to today’s win, Scream Machine had won $1000 in his three starts having placed third at Goulburn on debut.

He seemed a world above that effort after settling worse than midfield before launching his bid in the straight to finish ahead of Darley colt Tramp and the favourite Urban Rocker.
Scream Machine was purchased at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale in 2010 from the Edinglassie draft.
He is only the second foal of Octagonal mare Sevillano whose previous offerings include Mossman’s stakeswinning daughter, Parriwi, who won the Listed BRC Lancaster Stakes and was placed in the Group 3 Up and Coming Stakes.

Scream Machine’s dam boasts a 3 X 3 duplication of the immortal Sir Tristram via his champion son Zabeel and the stakeswinning mare, Fancy Miss.
Other members of the family include Group 1 winners Lotteria, Taatletail, Fancy Miss, Belotta, Rocket Racer, Starzaa as well as More Than Ready’s WATC Oaks/Derby winner, Dreamaway.
Sevillano returned to Vinery to visit Mossman in the 2009 season which resulted in a full sister to Parriwi foaled last spring.

Scream Machine’s win comes son after Excites 3YO and Inglis Classic purchase Greenedge scored his second win from as many starts in Victoria for the powerful Hawkes Racing combination.

“Excites recent success’ highlight what has been the prevailing consensus that we are going to see more and more fo them in the winners circle now that they are 3YO’s,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan.
“It is also very timely given that we are only weeks away from the start of the 2012 yearling sales series which kicks off at the Magic Millions then moves to Newmarket for the Classic where there are a number of very nice Excites colts and fillies on offer.”
