All Too Hard 3yo Roy’s Riviera has long-range Group 1 plans following her four-length victory at Greyville on Friday night.

South Africa’s renowned winter carnival in Durban is already in focus and trainer Frank Robinson confirmed the G1 Woolavington 2000 is her goal at Greyville on June 2.  “She’s got the size, the pedigree and everything else to be a top filly,” he predicted after she romped home in the It’s A Rush Hcp (1600m).  “She’s still six months away but I was very bullish tonight.

“I told Keagan (de Melo) to make sure it wasn’t a sit-and-sprint…she has to unwind.  They controlled the race outside the leader and won convincingly.”

Roy’s Riviera (3f All Too Hard – Donna Amata by Anabaa) is a half-sister to Strutt Stakes-LR winner Sebring Sally and sold for $70,000 at the 2016 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  World Wide Bloodstock bought her from Baramul Stud on behalf of leading South African owner Roy Moodley.

“She was a bit of an ugly duckling until I galloped her on grass with some others one morning,” Robinson recalled.  “She waltzed away from them and has just kept progressing.  Nothing worries her, like most of the Aussie-bred horses.”

There are 33 yearlings by Vinery sire All Too Hard at the Gold Coast Magic Millions starting on January 10.  First to parade is Baramul Stud’s chestnut filly from Gai Waterhouse Classic-LR winner Kryptelon (Lot 8).
